Frank Lewis Gardiner, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at his home on 600 East in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at age 93. He died of Causes Incident to Age.
He was born June 4, 1914 at Vernal, Utah to Lewis Stephen and Lucy Toes Gardiner. He married Barbara Welling July 25, 1944 in the Logan Temple. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his son Lewis LaVere and wife Sharon; six grandchildren and their spouses, Christie Ann (Brett) Antczak, Alicia (Steven) Braegger, Steven Lewis (Angela) Gardiner, Bethanie (Stephen) Peterson, Gareth Lance Gardiner, Britnie (Brian) Olsen, and six great-grandchildren.
Frank had a deep love for the Lord and served in many positions in the LDS Church including fulfilling a mission in South Carolina, 45 years of dedicated service to his Lord and Savior. He served a stake mission, as counselor in the stake mission presidency, counselor to three bishops and bishop. Frank served faithfully in the Salt Lake Temple for 19 years. He found immense joy in serving others all his life. Frank was genuinely loved and will be greatly missed.
The Viewing will be held at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, on Friday, February 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Waterloo Ward, 1623 South 500 East on Saturday February 16 at 11:00 a.m. with a Viewing one hour prior to the Service.
Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
