Ophelia Amaro, 73, of Casa Grande, died Dec. 2, 2005 at home.
Visitation will be from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 8:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Amaro was born Sept. 14, 1932 in Mesa and was a daughter of Policarpo and Rita Garcia. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church and Guadalupanas there, as well as of American Legion Auxiliary.
She worked for Champion Textiles in Casa Grande and in Arizona City. She also was a teacher's aide at Casa Grande Union High School, drove the lunch wagon there and worked in the cafeteria.
Mrs. Amaro was co-owner of Amaro Carpets Sales & Service in Casa Grande from 1963 to 1982. She loved to sing, dance and be a part of as many weddings as she could. She was devoted to her family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Albert; a son, Rudy Garcia Amaro of Carterville, Ill.; three daughters, Alva Sue Hernandez of Denver, Andrea F. Barker of Casa Grande and Debra Amaro of Carthage, N.C.; a brother, Manuel F. Garcia of Casa Grande; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josie Guzman and Edelia Soto, and three brothers, Cornelio F., Gilbert F. and Oscar F. Garcia.
