Gerardo P. Garcia, 78 of Anthony, NM died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at his home. He was born October 10, 1929 in Jalisco, Mexico to Adolfo and Apolonia Garcia. Gerardo worked for BK Farms Dairy and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He enjoyed baseball, his favorite team the "Dodgers". He loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them he also enjoyed the company of his "Chivas".

Gerardo is survived by his loving wife Dolores of the family home, four daughters Concepcion Carillo and husband Oscar of Chamberino, NM; Irma Lopez and husband Sergio of Anthony, NM; Bertha Valtierrez and husband Javier of El Paso, TX; and Rosario Diaz and husband Johnny of Las Vegas, NV. Two sons, Lorenzo Garcia of Anthony, NM. Jose Garcia and wife Otti of Anthony, NM. Also surviving are four sisters, Dolores, Manuela, Antonia, and Rosario. One brother Jose and ten grandchildren Reynalda, Osvaldo, Emmanuel, Oscar Jr., Liliana, Erik, Claudia, Javier Jr. ,Jennifer and Monica. Two great-grandchildren; Dominique and Adriana.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father Adolfo and Apolonia Garcia, and sisters Concepcion and Mercedes Garcia.

Visitation for Gerardo will be on Sunday January 20, 2008 from 6:30 - 7:00 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Anthony, NM, with a Prayer Vigil to follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Monday, January 21,2008, with internment to follow at the Anthony Cemetery.
