Patricia Ann Armstrong, 86, formerly of Mansfield, died Sunday August 5, 2007, in Woodlawn Health Care & Rehabilitation following a long illness.

She was born August 5, 1921 in Bellville to Blake and Alta (Gaddis) Garber, graduated from Bellville High School as salutatorian of her class of 1938, and remained a lifelong area resident.

Patricia graduated from Mansfield Business College and was employed as a secretary for the Mansfield Board of Education for 15 years.

She was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and knitting. A kind and caring aunt, Patricia loved her family and was never too busy to show them she cared by the many special and generous tasks she did for them.

She is survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses Shirley and William Thurston of Ashley, Janet and William Mottayaw of Mansfield, James and Patricia Russell of Bellville, Charles and Shirley Russell of Mansfield, Howard and Marguerite Russell of Delaware, Suzanne Adams of Wooster, Patrick Pearl of Loudonville, Deborah and David Bryant of Bellville and Geoffrey Pearl of Mansfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John R. Armstrong on December 26, 1973; and her sisters Winifred Russell and Maxine Pearl.
