Joan Gulley Gano, 56, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 11, after a short illness. She had worked as a secretary for Amarillo College about 25 years.
Mrs. Gano was born at Aberdeen, the daughter of Kay Gulley and Mary Wegner Gulley. After the death of her father, when she was 10, Mrs. Gano lived in the Odd Fellows Home for Children at Corsicana until she graduated from high school. She came to Amarillo at that time.
Her husband, Bill Gano, died in 1976. Survivors are two sons, Jerry Gano of Corpus Christi, and Bill Gano of Taos, NM; three sisters: Bennye Cummings of Raton, NM, Donita Sommers of Oklahoma City and Vonita Sanders of Amarillo. A brother, Kay T. Gulley, died about 20 years ago.
