Luther Douglas Gann, of San Antonio, died July 4, 2000 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Letha Mae Gann. This marriage began in 1940 and was truly "the love of a lifetime". He is also survived by his sister, Jewel Ford of Henderson. He had two daughters, Betty Jean and husband, Gary Haass of Helotes, Shirley Ann and husband, Sam Glenney II of College Station. He had one son, Luther Douglas Gann, Jr. and wife, Linda of San Antonio. He is also survived by his six grandsons, Gary D Haass and wife, Stephanie, David Haass, Sam Glenney III and wife, Amy, Chris Glenney and wife, Shannon, Mike Gann and wife, Misty, and Charles Gann; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gann was born in Atoka, Oklahoma in 1921 and came to Texas at an early age. He lived in San Antonio for over 60 years and retired from Yellow Freight Lines in 1982 after more than 40 years of service in the trucking industry. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. His retirement years were centered around his wife, children, and the pleasure of following the growth of his grandsons. His days were spent with loving wife, Letha Mae and his companion "Blue".
Service Saturday - 1:00 P.M. Porter Loring Chapel The Rev. Scott Skogen officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association of Texas, 7475 Callaghan Rd., San Antonio, TX. Interment in Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements with Porter Loring Mortuary.
