Private family burial was held at Crestview Cemetery on March 1, 2012, under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Memorial Service for Honey will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Lamar Baptist Church, 1100 Harrison, Wichita Falls with Reggie Coe officiating.
Helen was born May 17, 1921, in Wichita Falls, the youngest child of William Howard and Anna Pearl (McGee) Cone. She attended school in Wichita Falls, graduating from Wichita Falls High School. She married Luther Doyle Gammage January 25, 1940, in Walters, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and was later employed by Allison's Pharmacy and English Pharmacy where she enjoyed meeting people. Her hobbies over the years included sewing, quilting, crocheting, and many other crafts. She enjoyed reading, visiting and playing a wide variety of card and domino games.
Helen accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 9 and was a member of Lamar Baptist Church. She was involved in teaching Sunday School, WMU, mission trips, and other ministries throughout the years. She was eager to help wherever and whenever needed until her health declined.
Honey was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Doyle, infant son Eddie Glen Gammage, her parents, and her sister Pauline Weatherford.
She is survived by her sons Michael Doyle "Mike" Gammage and wife Susan, Patrick Odell "Pat" Gammage and wife Allene, Robert Lewis "Bob" Gammage and wife Christy; four grandchildren, Meg Gammage, David Gammage and wife Janet, Joshua Gammage, Anna Zhou Gammage; three great-grandchildren, Kalen Stockton, Emma Stockton, Victoria Gammage; niece Carlene Burt, and nephew Ben Weatherford.
