Mary Ann (Baker) Gamelli, 66, of Chestnut Street died Sunday at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on May 20th, 1945 to the late Helen (Jepson) and Fredrick Baker. She has lived in West Springfield all of her life, and she was a 1963 graduate of West Springfield High School. She worked for 15 years as an administrator in finance and procurement at the PVTA in Springfield, and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas Church. Mary Ann enjoyed any and all activities with her family and friends, including spending time at the beach, pool parties, boating, playing cards, bingo, and going her favorite restaurants. Mary Ann's family remembers fondly of the joyful summers they spent with her at Hampton Beach, and will always cherish her unconditional love and the humor she shared in every moment. She was the loving wife of 45 yrs. to David Gamelli and beloved mother of six children, William D. Gamelli and his wife Tracy, Grandmother of their son Gian, Jennifer M. Gamelli and her longtime companion Bart McCarthy, Danna M. Gamelli, Krystal A. Gamelli, Tanya M. Gamelli and Dennis W. Gamelli. She was the caring sister of Fred Baker and sister-in-law to the late Marlene Baker. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and close family and friends including Michael Heath. The funeral will be Friday at 9 AM at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Spfld. followed at 10 AM by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann's name may be made to the Westfield Cancer House of Hope, 86 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085 or to the Noble Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services, Inc., 77 Mill Street, Suite 201, Westfield, MA 01085.
