MRS ADAMS DIES - Mrs Bonnie E Adams, 82, wife of Beech Grove's first mayor, died Saturday, March 23. Born in Veedersburg, Indiana, she had taught school in the Pontiac, Ill, Hillsboro, Oaklandon, Castleton and Beech Grove schools. Mrs Adams was a member of the Beech Grove Methodist Church for more than half a century. Always active in her church, she had taught Sunday School classes for 35 years, hed been a member of the WSCS and served as choir director. She had been a member of the Beech Grove Library Board , the Sunshine Garden Club and the Beech Grove Home Ec Club. Mrs Adams possessed literary talent and enjoyed writing and presenting poetry to many civic organizations and clubs. A resident of Beech Grove 57 years, Mrs Adams was the wife of Charles Adams, who served as the city's first mayor. Other survivors include a son, John Adams of Indianapolis; three sisters, Miss Helen Hurst of Beech Grove; Miss Naliede Gambold and Mrs Kate Gambold Dyer, both of Indianapolis, and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Little and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday with interment in Washington Park.
