Daughter of Rev. John William Calhoun Black and Adaline Baldridge. After her father's death in 1892, her mother married her first husband's brother, L. O. Black (Larkin O'Neall Black) on 11 Mar 1893 in Bastrop County, Texas, and they had a son, Braxton O'Neall Black on 8 Jun 1896. Larkin O'Neall Black's death certificate was signed by his niece, Vivian (Black) Gaetjen.
