He was born on March 24, 1942 to Thomas J. and Hazel (Greene) Gabbard in Royal Oak. He graduated from Berkley High School in 1960. He married Sharon Siwanowicz on March 21, 1970 and moved to Evart from Southfield 28 years ago.
Mr. Gabbard was a Hog member and a member of the Abate Motorcycle Club, Chapter 21. He enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles, especially his 1969 Mustang and 2000 Harley.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; daughters, Wendy (Chad) Schnepf of Washington, and Kateena Gabbard and her fianc Chip Yosick of Waterford; granddaughter, Lola Schnepf; sister, Mary Jane (Jim) Logan of Imlay City; brothers, Thomas (Margaret) Gabbard of Cement City, and Robert (Karen) Gabbard of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with Rev. Joe Fix officiating followed by a gathering and then a luncheon 1 p.m. at Club Shadows. Cremation will follow services.
