She was born January 25, 1919 at Durham, Arkansas to Lee Roy "Pat" and Sarah Cassandra "Cassie" (Foster) Homesley..

She and Leonard R. Gabbard were married February 1, 1936 in Washington County, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fayetteville.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years; two sons, Norman Eugene Gabbard of Elkins, Glenn Gabbard of Appleton, Wisconsin; a daughter, Carolyn Inez Norman: a sister Mabel Shumate; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Funerl Service is Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Moores Chapel, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating.

Burial is in McCord Cemetery near Elkins.

Pallbearers are Adam Gabbard, Greg Gabbard, David Hays, Allen Shumate, Darrell Shumate and Eddie Shumate. Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth Bogan, Joe Terry and Fred Yerton.
