George Steward Grey, son of George Grey and Annie Maria Grey, formerly Steward, was born on 2 August 1896, at Newmarket, County Cork.
His father was then a Constable in the Royal Irish Constabulary.

In the 1911 census, he was recorded at Bridge Street, Mallow, Co. Cork
He was aged 14, the son of Sergeant George Grey, an RIC sergeant, aged 49, and his wife Annie, aged 38.
He was the eldest of their 4 children.

Death.
George Grey, aged 23, a bachelor, a Driver 36 B.A.C, Royal Field Artillery, No. 31196, late of Nelson Place, Youghal, died on 11 October 1919, at King George V. Hospital, Dublin.
The cause of death was Tubercular Spine, Exhaustion, certified
