Harry C. Funk, 94, died at 10:37 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Calhoun Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hardin.
He was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Batchtown, son of Theodore C. and Daisy (Evering) Funk.
For 27 years, he was married to Dulcenia Hill Funk, who passed away Feb. 10, 2008. He married Luella Mager Funk on Feb. 1, 1964. She passed away Feb. 17, 2005.
In 1978, he retired from the County Highway Department. He then worked many years for the Nutwood Drainage District. Harry served on the Hardin Village Board for many years and was a member of the Batchtown Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Neal (Donna) Funk of Michael, Melvin (Cindy) Funk of Carrollton, Gary (Karen) Funk of Brighton, and Rex (Chris) Funk of Granite City; two daughters, Joan Willman of Hardin and Iona (Larry) Ballard of Rosewood Heights; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin, where Roy Marlow will officiate at services at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19.
Burial will be at Wilson Cemetery in Batchtown.
Memorials may be made to Calhoun Ambulance Service or the Hardin Fire Department.
