She was born December 20, 1929, in Detroit, MI, to the late Ano Herbert and Ruth Wright Fultz.
Ruth received her Master's Degree in Education, and was employed as a teacher for IPS for over 19 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, Timothy H. (Diana) Altom and Terra Slainn; two granddaughters; three great grandchildren; and nieces, Carolyn (Gary) Rees and Gay Lee Cummings.
Ruth's husband, Merkle C. Altom; a daughter; and four siblings, preceded her in death.
