Joanna Fay Barnett, 92, of Bedford, died at 11:19 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2012, at Williamsburg Health Care in Crawfordsville, IN.
Born June 3, 1920, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Hartwell Harold and Florence Bethel (Lovell) Fultz. She married George Elza Barnett on December 20, 1939, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion Auxiliary. She attended Erie Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Barnett of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Monty Kay Barnett and wife, Janni, of Crawfordsville; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Morgan of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Helen Spires of Bedford; and her close friend and caregiver, Debbie Neeley. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Imogene Terrell; and a brother, Freddie Fultz, who died in WWII.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford with Pastor Ted Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 26, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
