Wife of Alberto Fulton dies at Hermon RD home
Mrs. Ada Fulton 75 wife of Alberto Fulton died Friday night at her late home on RFD 1 Hermon. She had been in failing health for the past two months.
Funeral service were held Sunday afternoon at the Beech Plains church with Rev James Belt Presbyterian minister officiating. A family prayer service was held at home at 1:30. Bearers were Alden Barber, Theron Barber, Gordon Finley, Fulton Caswell, Millard Fulton, and Robert Buell. Interment was in Beech Plains cemetery.
Mrs. Fulton was born January 14, 1880 daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E R Van House who at the time lived on the farm that adjoined the Fulton home. The home in which Mr. and Mrs. Fulton resided was built by Mrs. Fulton father. She was educated at the Star schoolhouse in the town of Pierrepont.
The couple was married February 20,1902 at the Hermon Methodist parsonage by the late Rev. C J Middleton. In 1904 the couple moved to Sherland, Illinois where Mr. Fulton started farming but returned to this section with in a few years. For about thirty years they resided at Cranberry Lake where fro a time Mr. Fulton ran a steamboat for transportation on the lake.
In 1952 the couple observed their golden wedding anniversary at their “Willow Grove Farm” where they have resided since 1929.
Mrs. Fulton was a member of the Beech Plains Presbyterian church and vice president of the ladies Aid Society of which she has always been a faithful and ardent worker. May 1955
