Birth: Jun. 10, 1957
Death: Aug. 9, 2005

Debra Fuller Clark, 48, of Atlanta, died August 9 at Emory University Medical Center. Debra was born in Sylacauga, AL, and her life was filled with a love for music and family. She graduated from Mercer University in Atlanta, and received her Masters in Music from Georgia State University. Debra was a talented pianist, organist, and vocalist, serving as church pianist and organist for many years for Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Dunwoody Baptist Church, and White Oak Hills Baptist Church. She also authored original compositions and arrangements of joyful music, as well as teaching music. In 2001 and 2004, she traveled to England and Wales with the music ministry of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Her daughter Rachel said "Not only was she a mother to me, but most of all she was my best friend. Being there for me through every situation, she made tears into smiles. Bringing a smile to everyone's face each and everyday made her the most fun and outgoing mother one could only wish for. Her one goal in life was to make everyone happy and never put herself in line first. We know her through her wonderful personality, but what she would want people to know is that she served the Lord through the talents he gave her. Through her intelligence she was able to be one of the best musicians that ever walked this earth. I have never listened to music that soothes my soul like the music she played for me. She wrote messages of God's word through the lyrics of her songs. Focusing on the Pilgrim's Progress, she taught me and the people around us about the walk to salvation." Debra is survived by her loving husband, David; son, Danny; daughter, Rachel; father and stepmother, Dawson and Evelyn Fuller; mother and stepfather, Betty and Al Powell; brothers, David and Stephen Fuller; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 2 o'clock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Dr. John Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
