Son of William Fuller and Susan Black Fuller, Aspinwall ran away at 13 and enlisted in the Navy as a powder Monkey. This information is from the US Navy Archives. His Brother William Lee ran away at 14 and joined the calvary. Both were disowned for quite some time.

Aspinwall Fuller died in 1883 of brain fever. Aspinwall was president of the MEBA (Marine Engineers Benevolent Association).


When Aspinwall Fuller was born on March 26, 1851, in Staten Island, New York, his father, William, was 41 and his mother, Susan, was 25. He married Jane Ann "Jennie" Curtis on September 20, 1880, in Manhattan, New York. They had two children during their marriage. He died on June 23, 1888, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 37, and was buried in Rhinebeck, New York.
