Maxine Bowman, 76, of Lebanon died Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2001, in Richland Care Center, Inc. in Richland.
She was born Jan. 4, 1925, near Lebanon, to Adley Robert and Edith Mae Elmore Fulford.
On Feb. 2, 1942, she married Farmer William Bowman, who preceded her in death on March 5, 2001. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, E. W. Bowman.
Besides being a devoted homemaker, she also was the bookeeper for the family farming operation, and drove a school bus for the Rippy School District for several years.
She was a longtime active member of Oakland United Methodist Church where she led the singing for many years; Later transferred her membership to the Lebanon First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bowman was a member and past co-president of the Levis & Lace Spuare Dance Club and past co-president of the Central District Missouri State Federation of Square & Round Dance Club.
She volunteered with the election board, the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Melody Bowman and Ed and Joyce Bowman, all of Lebanon; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ray Tober of St. Louis; a Brother, Jack Fulford of Clinton; a sister, Kathleen Barnes of Lebanon; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Maxine Bowman were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001 in the Holman-Howe Chapel with the Rev. Larry Hubbard officiating. Burial was in Mount Rose Memorial Park, Under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Of Lebanon.
