ROBERTA FULFORD COOK (April 8, 1926) Funeral Services Held for Mother and Baby
Funeral services were held at the Lebanon Baptist church last Thursday afternoon for Mrs. O. L. Cook and baby son, James Ray Cook.
The service was conducted by Rev. J. B. Sims, assisted by Rev. Forrest Richard of Flemington.
The choir sang by request "My Wonderful Dream" and "How Firm a Foundation" and Mrs. Curtis James sang "Some Time We'll Understand."
The pall bearers were three brothers-in-law, L. Gus Smith, C. H. O'Dell and C. A. Pierce, and Oscar Smith, James Petit and L. N. Edwards.
The casket holding the forms of the mother and babe was taken to the New Hope Baptist church near Russ where a large crowd of old time neighbors and friends of the family were gathered and a very brief service was held. Interment was in the cemetery there.
Roberta Fulford Cook is very kindly remembered by her friends here and their sympathy goes out to the husband and the three little children who are too young to yet realize the great loss that has come to them.
The husband and little ones were accompanied to Lebanon by an aunt, Mrs. John Hufft, of Springfield.
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Pierce of Columbus, Nebraska, also came to attend the funeral.
