WELL KNOWN WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY AT HOSPITAL.
Mrs. Nannie Fulcher Eggleston, 67, for more than half a century a beloved resident of Martinsville, widow of George Dillard Eggleston, died suddenly of an attach of kidney trouble in Shackelford Hospital Tuesday morning.
She entered the hospital Monday night and was not believed to be in a serious condition.
Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon conducted by the Rev. Starke Jett, pastor.
Burial will be made in Oakwood Cemetery by the side of her husband who died about five years ago.
She is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Jean Fulcher, Gravely Street, who lived with his sister for many years during her married life and until her death; J. T. Fulcher of Roanoke; Elba Fulcher of Spray, N.C., and Mrs. Ella Eggleston of Martinsville and a half sister, Mrs. Woodson Joyce of Spencer.
There were no children. Mrs. Eggleston was known as a active worker in the missionary society of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. Eggleston had been in declining health for several years and had been indisposed for the past two weeks, but not seriously ill.
She walked to the hospital herself and intended to have tests made. Her death came very unexpectedly.
No member of the family was with her at the time of her death.
She was a native of Patrick County, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. George Fulcher.
She came to Martinsville nearly 50 years ago and lived here almost continuously during that time.
