Alice Ponton White Fulcher, 85 of Madison Heights died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born Jan. 21, 1922 in Nelson County she was a daughter of the late Henry Ponton and Precious White Ponton.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, of Monroe.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Corbitt E. White (1985); a grandson, Randall Hartless; a son-in-law, Buddy C. Fulcher; three brothers, William Ponton, Floyd Ponton and Elwood Ponton; and two sisters, Katherine Adams and Virginia Tinsley.
She is survived by her husband Frank D. "Bob" Fulcher; two daughters, Barbara W. Hartless Freeman and husband, Ray, and Rebecca W. "Becky" Fulcher; two sons, Ray E. White and wife, Nellie, and James R. White and wife, Carnell; a brother Robert Ponton; two sisters, Bernice Sprouse and Elizabeth Ponton; two sister-in-laws, Flora Ponton and Hilda Ponton; five grandchildren, James White Jr., Les White, Jason Fulcher, Angela Seeley, and Van White; seven great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kendall, Dawson, James White III, Josiah, Abigail, and Samuel; and a special friend Joan Lang.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, front street Lovingston with the Rev. Glen Coleman officiating.
Interment will follow in Centenary Memorial Cemetery at Arrington.
The family will receive friends two hours before the time of service on Friday and suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Monroe, 139 Francis Avenue, Monroe, Va. 24574.
