Fond du Lac Reporter, Apr. 4, 2007. Mary Catherine Fuhrmann, 84, formerly of N8995 West Shore Lane, St. Cloud, Wis., "Wolf Lake," died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lombard, Ill. She was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Cassville, Wis., a daughter of the late Matt and Clara Reilly Habermann. She attended St. Charles School in Cassville until 1933, when the family moved to Mount Calvary, Wis.; then she attended Holy Cross Grade School in Mount Calvary. Mary Catherine graduated from St. Mary's Springs High School in Fond du Lac in 1940 and from the St. Agnes School of Nursing in 1944. On May 11, 1946, she married Elmer Fuhrmann at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1996. After their marriage, the couple lived and worked on the Fuhrmann homestead in St. Joe. Mary Catherine worked for several years at the Mount Calvary Medical Center. She was a hospice volunteer, and later she and her husband were active volunteers at St. Agnes Hospital. Mary Catherine was also a volunteer with the "Quilting Ladies" at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home. Her husband Elmer preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1998. Mary Catherine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe and its Christian Women's Society. Survivors include her children, Thomas (Jeanne) Fuhrmann of Tempe, Ariz., and their children, Brian (Katrina) Gardner and their children, Hadyn and Brysen, Eric (Heidi) Gardner and their children, Hunter and Brock; David (Sandy) Fuhrmann of La Valle, Wis., and their children, Ryan (Nikie) Fuhrmann and their children, Ben, Will and Gabe, Craig (Mirandy) Fuhrmann, Cory Fuhrmann and Eric Fuhrmann; Susan (Thomas) King of Itasca, Ill., and their children, Eileen Kaiser and her son, Max Kaiser, Laura (John) Mensik and their son, Cole Mensik. She is further survived by her brother, Dr. Jim (Audrey) Habermann of Joplen, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Valita Feldner of St. Cloud, Estelle Wagner of St. Cloud "Wolf Lake" and Jeannette (Vic) Ruh of Lake Oswego, Ore.; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Elmer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe with the Rev. Oliver Bambenek officiating. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007,at the Sippel Funeral Home, 1311 Thorp St., St. Cloud, Wis., and again from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday morning, when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society. The Sippel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, (920) 999-2291, is assisting with arrangements.
