Ben (Scootie) Fuentes Sr., age 79, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on September 21, 2007.
Ben is survived by two sons, Ben Fuentes Jr. and his wife, Rosa María and Ray Fuentes Sr. and his wife, Jene, two sisters, Shelia Marino and Rosalie Tafoya and her husband, Mike, two brothers, Jerry García and Leroy Valles and his fiancé, Chris Armijo, four grandchildren, Ben Fuentes III and his wife, Elena, Nitika Fuentes, Ray Fuentes Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth and Gabriel Fuentes and his fiancée, Gracie Telles, two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ray Fuentes and Gabriel Izaak Fuentes, his close friend, Tomás and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ben was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in Army Air Forces Base Unit.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, Albuquerque, NM with Father Edmundo Rodríguez, presider. Committal service by Deacon Juan Martínez will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM with Military Honors.
