Marian was born December 19, 1917, in Wakefield, Neb., the daughter of Warner and Anna (Olson) Erlandson. She was a homemaker and a farm hand. Marian was a member of Atherton Restoration Church. She was a quilter and made all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren quilts. Marian was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dean Frye, in 1994, and a son, Thomas Frye.
Her survivors include four children, Marlin Frye and wife, Mary Beth, of Buckner, Betty Stewart and husband, Fred, of Independence, Mo., Frank Frye and wife, Patty, of Mexico, and Gary Frye and wife, Virginia, of Buckner; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Warren Erlandson of Wakefield, Neb., and Robert Erlands of Omaha, Neb.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence. Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to Atherton Restoration Church, 4910 N. Main, Independence, Mo. 64058.
