Gracie Mae Clark, age 84 of Centerville formerly of Mystic, Iowa died Wednesday September 7, 2005 at Golden Age Care Center, Centerville.

Gracie was born on November 3, 1920 in Mystic, Iowa to John and Jennie(Hamilton)Frost. She was raised and lived in Mystic most of her life. She was united in marriage to Ted Clark on March 22, 1937 in Unionville, Missouri. Mrs Clark was the former co-owner of Ted Clark's Skelgas and Ted Clark's Thermogas.

Gracie (known as Mrs. Republican) was the first woman co-chair of the Republican Party, Appanoose County, and is in the Republican Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Mystic Mesthodist Church and a 65 year member of the Irene Chapter no. 414 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Gracie loved her grandchildren, Bingo and Bridge.

Gracie is survived by her daughter, Sally and her husband Gerald Banks of Centerville, IA; daughter-in-law Jackie Clark of Yuma, AZ, 2 granddaughters, Dawn Free of Rockford, Illinois and Teddy and her husband Jim Walker of Mystic; Six grandsons; John and his wife Marcdia Banks of Corydon, IA, Chief Master Sgt Joseph and his wife Lori Banks of Schertz, Texas, Charlie and his wife Stephanie Banks of Centerville, Bradley and his wife Debbie Clark of Centerville, Randall and his wife Londa Clark of Centerville, Doyle and his wife Barb Clark of Yuma, AZ; 7 great granddaughters, 10 great-grandsons, 3 step great grand daughters, 2 step great grandsons, 1 great great granddaughter, 1 great great grandson, several nieces and nephews.

Gracie was preceded in death by her husband Ted (1980); a son Billy Donald Clark (2002),parents, grandsons Jeffrey Donald Clark, Russell Scott Clark and Scott Allan Clark, 2 brothers Delmont and Montelle Frost and a sister Lucille Wade.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Monday September 12, 2005 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 1 PM until 9 PM with the family present from 7-9 PM at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. An Order of the Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 8 PM. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Mystic. A memorial has been established to the Highland Cemetery Association and may be left or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, POBox6, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
