Elizabeth Fritz Crenwelge died Monday, June 13, 2011, in a Houston hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., in Houston. A rosary will be recited 30 minutes prior to the Mass. She will be interned in Waco, at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, in the Waco Memorial Park Cemetery, 6626 South Interstate 35. Monsignor Mark Deering will officiate a short service at the cemetery.

Elizabeth was born in Fredericksburg, Texas, to the late Karl and Ida Margaret Fritz, and lived most of her life with her family in Waco. She was employed for 14 years as the clothing director for the Methodist Children's Home. She also spent many days working with her husband at the Waco Knights of Columbus Hall. After retirement, she quilted many quilts for family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Norwin Walter Crenwelge; brothers, Bruno Karl Edward, Joseph Richard, Karl Raymond Jacob, Wilfred John and Kasper August Fritz; and sisters, Margaret Mary Juenke, and Ida Jane Gastinger.

Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Etzel and husband, Bill; son, Denis Leo Crenwelge and wife, Mary McDougall; granddaughters, Pamela Crenwelge Roche and husband, Greg, of Houston, and Jennifer Ann Crenwelge, of Denver, Colo.; grandson, Scott Walter Etzel, of Houston; great-grandsons, John Frances, Thomas Fritz and Patrick Denis Roche; brother, Leo Antonio Bernhard Fritz, of Westlake Village, Calif; many other family members; and a host of friends.
