Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Fritz, age 95, of Peshtigo, WI, went to Heaven to be with her loving husband and son on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo. She was born, Jan. 5, 1923, in Marinette, WI to the late Charles and Mayme (Gamelin) Betters.

She attended Marinette Schools

Liz married Harold William Fritz on Jan. 5, 1944. They enjoyed 60 years together until his passing on March 24, 2004.
The couple enjoyed wintering in Apache Junction, Ariz., with many friends both from the area and the those they met while in Arizona. They also enjoyed camping at various campgrounds, but especially at Wells Park in Cedar River, Mich.
Liz thoroughly enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
A homemaker, she was an excellent baker and cook, enjoyed coffee clutching with her neighbor, Irma Lorenz and treasured her daily phone conversations with her sister-in-law, Vivian Bertrand, along with the monthly “Fritz Family Breakfasts” at The Coral in Peshtigo.
Also dear to her heart were her many nieces and nephews from the Keller and Penl families and many others too numerous to mention. She was always there for her children and truly loved Christmas and family gatherings. In younger years, she belonged to a Card Club in Peshtigo.

Liz is survived by three children: Marlene (Frank) Biernat of Rice Lake, WI; Michael (Diane) Fritz of Peshtigo, WI and Lynette (Joseph) Brosig of Marinette, WI;
a daughter-in-law Margaret “Markie” Rollman-Fritz of Green Bay, WI;
11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren;
two sisters-in-law: Vivian Bertrand and Eileen Fritz;
and a brother-in-law, Emil “Sonny” Fritz; and many other family members and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Harold Fritz; a son Dennis Fritz; a grandson Todd Fritz;
a brother Clayton at 11 years old;
two sisters: Lucille Keller and Alice Penl;
a brother and sister-in-law: Mervin “Buck” and Martha Betters;

in-laws: Emil (Christine) Fritz;
brothers and sisters-in-law: Roy and Agnes Fritz and Omer and Fran Fritz; sisters-in-law: Geneva Baldwin and Blanche Fritz; and brothers-in-law: Clarence Fritz, Charles Bertrand and Leonard “Baldy” Baldwin.
