A funeral will be held for 92-year-old Elda L. Fritsche of Perryville who died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born in Perry County on September 16, 1917, the daughter of the Rudolph and Martha (Lohmann) Schuessler who both preceded her in death.

She married Erwin R. Fritsche on May 9, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1999.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter: Richard (Kathy) Fritsche of Austin, Texas, Erwin (Marg) Fritsche of Perryville, Larry (Karen) Fritsche of Evansville, Indiana and Christine (Rickey) Best of Uniontown; eight grandchildren: Dan and Jennifer Fritsche, Lori and Jason England, Jennifer and Kyle Bosse, Heather and Landon Yeager, Kimberly and Rodney Holdman, Anthony Best, Michelle Fritsche, Mark and Marcia Fritsche, 11 great grandchildren: Grace, Claire, Jack, Austin Firtsche, Allie England, Jacob, Jordan, Allison Bosse, Hunter Holdman, Lilly Best, Caleb, and Kasey Gillen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father: John Cornehlsen, one brother: Edmund Schuessler, one sister Norma Muench, and one half brother: Gilbert Cornehlsen.

She was a nurse's aide at Perry County Nursing Home.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar and Ladies Aid.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, December 27th and 6:30-8 a.m. Monday, December 28th at the Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.


A funeral for 92-year-old Elda L. Fritsche of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 28th at the Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar. The Rev. Roger Abernathy will officiate.

Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour Ministries or Salem Lutheran Church.
