Haskell, Texas - Velma (Frierson) Campbell, 97, of Haskell, passed away September 14, 2007.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Haskell with Pastor Kelly Pigott officiating.
Velma was born in Haskell September 25, 1909, to Felix and Dura Lois Frierson. She married Gene Campbell on June 10, 1951. Velma was a lifelong member of First Prysbyterian Church, where she served as an elder. Her voice could be heard each Sunday as she sang. She enjoyed fishing and playing canasta with her canasta group every Thursday night. Velma owned and operated City Floral with her sister Stella from 1955 until retiring. Her love of flowers was always evident, as was her love of family. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Velma is survived by: her sister, Stella Marie Steele and husband, Bill of Haskell; sister-in-law, Marion Frierson of Haskell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Gene Campbell; brothers; Felix (Pete) Frierson, Dick Frierson, and Mont Frierson; sisters, Alice Holloway and infant Lela Lois Frierson.
