Patricia Friel Clements, 72, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and recent resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 6, 2015, in her home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Pat was born on June 14, 1942, in Birmingham to the late Harold Francey Friel and Mary Elizabeth Friel. Pat was a devoted wife, loving mother, and precious "Mimi" to her four grandsons. She was pre-deceased by her dear son Cary Pate Allbritton of Birmingham. A graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Pat became a life-long spirited Tiger of Auburn University, where she pursued a degree in Art. She retired from UAB, where she was the Coordinator of Family Medicine Residency Program. In Birmingham, Pat was an active member of Doctrinal Studies Bible Church, where she loved studying the Bible and learning about her Lord and Savior. Pat was a kind-hearted, loving friend to all; her spirit was a blessing in the lives of all whom she touched, and she leaves behind a legacy of grace. Patricia is also remembered for her keen, quick sense of humor, funny one-liners so beautifully timed, a deep devotion and loyalty to her extended family, and an unlimited pursuit and remarkable knowledge of spiritual matters. She was also a talented artist, whose work adorns the homes of various family members and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Patricia's homecoming with her Lord will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 2:00pm (visitation at 1:00pm) at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, Alabama with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
