Anna C. Alton, 79 of Decatur passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Adams Memorial Hospital.
Anna was born January 16, 1928 in Corydon, Indiana to the late Stanley M. & Elsie L. (Bowling) Friedley. She married George H. Alton on September 30, 1950. He died June 10, 1960.
Survivors include 2 daughters Mrs. Jack (Deborah A.) Snyder of Ohio City, Ohio, Mrs. Richard (Margaret L.) Wheeler of St. Charles, Missouri; a sister Irene Thias of Muncie, Indiana; and 4 grandchildren.
Also preceded her in death is a sister Helen Hudson and a brother Roy Friedley.
Anna was a school teacher from 1965-1993 with North Adams Community Schools.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur and was an Elder Trustee and a Deacon at the church. She was also a member of the NEA-ISTA Education Association.
Calling hours are 4-8 pm Monday, July 23, 2007 at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services.
Funeral Services are at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home.
Rev. Laura Sherwood will be officiating and burial in is Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials are to the First Presbyterian Youth Basement Renovation Project.
