Ann A. Battaglia, 91, resident of Moscow, Idaho, passed away Aug. 20, 2009, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, due to complications resulting from an automobile accident on August 7.
Ann was born on Dec. 30, 1917, in Lawrence, Neb., daughter of Joseph and Anna Frey of Lawrence, Neb. She was married to Olis Battaglia in Illinois. They had two sons, Richard (Marge) and Timothy (Cheryl).
Ann was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church here in Moscow. She had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, and seamstress, making many embroidered gifts for family and friends. She also baked tons of pies and cookies for kids, grand kids, and great-grand kids whom she loved dearly.
She is missed greatly by her family and friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Olis; her parents, Joseph and Anna; and sisters, Sophia, Josephine, and Mary; brothers, Edward and Phillip;
Surviving are her two sons, Richard of Moscow, Idaho and Timothy of The Woodlands Texas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and is survived by her one brother Paul; and three sisters, Rose, Ursela, and Kaye.
Funeral: At Ann's request her remains were cremated in Boise, Idaho and an immediate family memorial mass was celebrated at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Boise, Idaho.
A second memorial mass and interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 14, 2009, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, in Paderborn, Ill.
Burial in the church cemetery will follow, where she will be laid to rest next to Olis in the family plot.
