Born at Brothertown on December 16, 1895, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Buechel Freund. He married Sylvia M Arenz at Jericho on September 23, 1919. Mr. Freund was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Barbers Local 327 and American Federation of Musicians Local 309, having played with the various bands in Fond du Lac area.
Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Albert (Leila) Jene of Pewaukee; Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Anderson and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Halfman both of Fond du Lac; a son, Robert of Colorado Springs, Col.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Edward of Brothertown and Martin of Calumetville; and a sister, Mrs Walter Mueller of Charlesburg. He was preceded in death by two infant sons and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Marys Church. The Rev. Ernest Dreher will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
