She was born Nov. 17, 1959, in LaGrange, to James Joseph and Virginia Francis (Yackley) O'Toole. On June 1, 1985, she married Richard William Frett at St. John of the Cross in Western Springs.
She had been active as a co-chair of Adoptive Families Today, was an active parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church of Crystal Lake, and did volunteer work for English as a Second Language.
She worked as a senior accountant at KPMG before becoming a mother.
Her favorite pastimes included spending time with family, family vacations, and cooking ethnic Korean and Mexican dinners for her children.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Frett of Cary; her children, Carolyn Elena and Steven Choi; her mother, Virginia Francis O'Toole; and her brother, James Patrick O'Toole of Macomb.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society .
