SARA (SALLY) FRENCH
Sally French, 92, of Pensacola, formerly of Rockledge, Florida passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004.
Sally was born in Pleasantville, New York on March 6, 1912 to John and Catherine Dermody. In 1935, Sally graduated from Barnard College in New York City, later served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant, and was a social worker at Beekman Downtown Hospital.
She was a homemaker and was active in many volunteer organizations including Hospice, Childhood Development Center at Brevard Community College, and St. Mary's Parish. Sally also acted in several community theatre troupes.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John, and daughters, Catherine Garea (Ray Garea), Anne Watson (Alan Andrews), three grandchildren: Annelle Willard (Jaime Willard), Susan Garea, and Michael Garea, great- grandson, Thomas Ryan Willard, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2004, at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway with a vigil service at 5:30.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2004 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 5200 Saufley Field Road, with Father Tom O'Flaherty serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff at Baptist Manor and all the people who helped take care of their mother.
