Frank F. Freking

NEW VIENNA, Iowa -- Frank F. Freking, 87, of New Vienna died at 5 am Thursday at home.

Services will be at 11 am Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, with burial in St. Boniface Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 pm Friday at the Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where the rosary will be said at 8:30 pm.

Mr. Freking was born in New Vienna and farmed until his retirement.

He was former president of the Farm Bureau and the New Vienna Savings Bank; former secretary of the New Vienna Creamery Co. and the New Vienna Mutual Insurance Association, and was former councilman and mayor of New Vienna. He was also a member of St. Boniface Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Engelken; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Kathleen) Wessels, and a son, James, both of New Vienna; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Link of Dubuque, Mrs. Ben (Martha) Niehaus of Sauk Center, Minn., and Mrs. Alphonse (Leonetta) Link of Farley.
