Ruby Marie Baker, age 88, of Springdale went to be with the Lord on Aug. 1, 2013, at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville. She was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Cane Hill, Ark., the daughter of Wesley and Verona Latta Freeman.

She was a homemaker and had previously served as the pianist for Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved attending Cross Church of Springdale where she sang in the choir and did not miss church for 20 straight years. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her friends and family.

Mrs. Baker was preceded by her husband, Roy in 2002; and one son, Dana in 2012.

Mrs. Baker is survived by one son, Tommy Baker and Vida of Fayetteville; one daughter, Carole Baker and Kayri of Farmington; two sisters, Floy Parks of Dallas, Texas, and Louise Galey of Duncan, Okla.; six grandchildren, Jeremy Baker of Buford, Ga., Alaina Hornsby and Justin of Logansville, Ga., Troy Baker of Mulvane, Kan., Jared Baker and Stormey of Fayetteville, Lora Adams of Farmington and Brent Weathers of Springdale; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Cross Church of Springdale at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Joe Dorman officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jack Freeman, Almer Dee Freeman, Johnny Cobb, Jeremy Baker, Jared Baker and Brent Weathers.
