Helen Louise Bargeron Freeman, 85, of Waycross died Friday morning at Baptist Village following an extended illness.
She was born July 31, 1923 in Sardis, Georgia to the late Jack M. Bargeron and Louise Rackley Bargeron ; also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leon Howard Freeman, Sr.
She was a retired Nurse .She lived most of her life in Waycross and was a member of First Baptist Church Waycross for 71 yrs. She was a member of the Ruth Sunday school Class and was an avid Bridge player and had many friends.
She is survived by two daughters,
Linda Nessmith (Gordon) of Blackshear,
Marsha Holliday of LaGrange;
two sons
Howard Freeman, Jr., (Melissa) of Hayesville, North Carolina and
Kirk Freeman of LaGrange.
Grandchildren
Amy Strickland of Charleston, South Carolina, David Strickland wife Robin of Jacksonville, Florida, Melanie Fields of Charleston, South Carolina, Daniel Strickland wife Jennifer of Statesboro, Jennifer Kendall of LaGrange, Julianne Lynn, husband Brad of LaGrange and Lydia McMurphy husband Braxton of Mobile, Alabama.
She had thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Sunday at the First Baptist Church, Waycross. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5-7 pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
