CHESAPEAKE - Sarah "Libby" Freeman, 93, passed away June 19, 2011 in Sentara Nursing Center of Chesapeake, where she had resided since 2009. Sarah was the daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Hardy, and the widow of James Freeman. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Ferguson, Vivian Overby, Doris Davis, Jannetta Ford, Mary Turner, Lucille Scott, and sons, James Freeman Jr., Clarence Freeman and Alvin Freeman; her brother, Clarence Hardy (Dorothy); and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in New Central Baptist Church located in the Berkley section of Norfolk. Burial will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. in Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 9:30 a.m. Friday at 2447 Grandy Ave., Norfolk, for the processional to the church.
