Ena Beausoleil, born June 17, 1906, a longtime resident of Putnam,Connecticut,
passed away in Gautier, MS on February 21, 2010 at the age of 103. She was a
communicant of St. Mary's Church and was active in the Circle of Fun, Ladies
of St. Anne, The League of Catholic Women and a past President and Secretary
of the St. Jean de Baptiste Society. Preceded in death by her husband,
Salvador, a sister, Germaine (Cartier), and her daughter, Jeanne (Rousseau).
As a young woman, Ena was employed at Belding Heminway in Putnam as a weaver. She later worked as a Buyer in the children's department at Bugbee's Department Store. She returned to Belding's where she was employed in the Quality Control Department. She retired from Belding's in 1975. Ena was well known for her exceptional sewing skills and worked at home as a seamstress during her many years in Putnam. Ena was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador; a sister, Germaine (Cartier), and her daughter Jeanne (Rousseau). She is survived by three children: Roger and his wife Barbara of Crestview, FL, Lucien and his wife Betty of Gautier, MS, and Norman of Putnam, CT. She also leaves to pray for her, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild., Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ena's family from 9:00 to 10:30am, Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
