Death Of Mrs. Bedell
On last Friday morning occured the death of Mrs. Mary Bedell, sister of our leading millinery, Mrs. A.T. Ayers, of paralysis. She arrived in Creighton just one week previous to her death from Norfolk where she had made her home for a number of years, during which time she had made frequent visits to our city.
She was a woman of more than average ability, always taking an active part in Christian work, having been a member of the Methodist church since twelve years of age.
Miss Mary A. Frazer was born at Saranac, NY., Aug. 1, 1836, and at the age of nineteen years was married to Mr. Ramsin Bedell, at Plattville, Wis. During the Civil War he enlisted in Co. I 36 Illinois Volenteers and was killed in the battle at Petersburg, Virginia, Oct. 7, 1864, and Mrs. Bedell has remained a widow since that time.
She departed this life July 27, 1900, at the age of 63 years.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Sunday morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. A.J. Marklov officiating, and the remains interred in the Green Wood cemetery. The sympathy of the community go out to the afflicted relatives.
