The following bio is from the dedication ceremonies of a historical marker at the grave of Alexander, recognizing his service as President General of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, at 1:30 PM, on June 5, 2004, at Anchor Masonic Cemetery.

"Alexander H Fraser II, was born on his family homestead in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas on January 12, 1910 as the only son of Alexander H Fraser and Florence Agnes Clamp. He was the great-great grandson of John W Smith, the last messenger from the Alamo, who was an attorney in the Republic of Texas, and the first Anglo Mayor of San Antonio. Alexander was an eleventh generation Texan, and the tenth generation of his family to be born in Bexar County, Texas. His first Texas ancestors were Don Juan Curbelo and Don Juan Delgado, who were among the Canary Islanders who founded San Fernando de Bexar (San Antonio) in 1731. He was married to and survived by Clara Lee Kennedy, and three children.

Alexander Fraser was educated at Virginia Military Institute and the University of Texas Law School, receiving his law license April 1, 1933. He was a 52 year member of the Texas Bar Association, and a member of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and Real Estate Board. He was a director of the Scottish Society of San Antonio, Vice President of the San Antonio Historical Society, and Chairman of the San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Survey Committee. Because of his superior knowledge of Texas history, Alexander Fraser was selected by San Antonio Mayor Lila Cockrell to give a special tour of the Alamo to Prince Charles of England during his visit to the city.

Alexander Fraser served in World War II, commissioned in the Corps of Military Police of the Army, later serving in the Texas National Guard, retiring in 1963 as a Major. He wrote and published Volume 1 of the Bexar County Headright Records, and also authored the five volume set of books of "The Frasers of Tobinhill." He also wrote numerous articles for newspapers including "The Storming of Bexar" and "Practice of Law in the Republic of Texas."

Alexander Fraser served as President of the William B. Travis Chapter #7, Sons of the Republic of Texas and President General of the SRT from 1971 through 1972, and was made a KNIGHT OF SAN JACINTO in 1971, and later served as Knight Commander. He also served as Governor General of the Society of Colonial Wars from 1978 to 1984, as well as President of the San Antonio Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution."

I thought this was a fitting tribute, Sincerely, Daniel Gabehart, Past President of the Wm B Travis Chapter, SRT.
