He died in the South Pacific - New Guinea. Dale is buried in the Manila Army Cemetery, Manila, Philippines, Plot D, Row 10, Grave 99.
Married Elenore Hammer, Nov 15, 1942 - One daughter Carolyn Jean.
Dale was injured in the battle of Lone Tree and died of blood poisoning.

There is also a memorial stone for him in Sunset cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas.
