__B. F. Franks of 618 Second avenue SW, a retired barber and a Cedar Rapids resident for more than 50 years, died in the Veterans hospital, Iowa City, at 6:30 p.m. Monday following a long illness. Mr. Franks was born Sept. 7, 1867, near Winona, Minn.
__Surviving are his wife Lell Irene; two sons, Warren Leslie Franks of Cedar Rapids and Cliffored Dale*, of Brockton, Mass., besides several grandchildren.
__Mr. Franks was a member of Mt. Hermon lodge No. 263 A. F. and A. M., El Kahir Shrine, Iowa Consistory, and was the oldest member of Hanford post of the American Legion. He also was a member of Peoples church.
__Services will be conducted in the Turner chapel at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Waldemar W. Argow. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery.
