Mary F. Beatty
Mary F. Franklin Beatty, 85, of the Georgetown Heights area of Gilpin died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 15, 2002) in the West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township.
Born April 30, 1917, in Hyde Park, she lived in Gilpin many years before moving to the nursing home in May.
Mrs. Beatty was a secretary and bookkeeper for 19 years at Penn Glenn Oil in New Kensington before retiring in 1971.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Leechburg and the Fidelis Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women of the church, New Kensington Quota Club, and Mount Joy Grange in Parks.
She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and traveling.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Bowser of Mesa, Ariz.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Beatty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Beatty, in 1985; her parents, John and Clara Litton Franklin; five brothers, Laurence, William, Benjamin, Carl and Truman Franklin; and two sisters, Alice Carroll and Helen Robbins.
There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services at 1 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, Main Street, Leechburg, with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald W. Raptosh, officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gilpin.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of CLAWSON'S, Leechburg.
