HOUSTON– Clara Olean Franklin Chapman, 76, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born April 5, 1934, to Everett Franklin and Inez McCluney Franklin in Chickasaw County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Houston.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Childs and Bro. Phillip Dearman officiating. Burial will be at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Houston. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, William Bascomb Chapman Jr.; her daughter, Vicki Lichtenegger (Scott) of St. Peters, Mo.; two grandchildren, Ryan Lichtenegger and Emily Lichtenegger of St. Peters, Mo.; four sisters, Alice Blue of Houston, Rose Haire (Wayne) of Thorn, Lynette Collums of Woodland and Daphna Shempert (Billy) of Houlka; one brother in law, Paul Jernigan; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Chapman; her parents; two sisters, Hilda Jernigan and Vannie Tackett; and two brothers-in-law, Billy Blue and Curtis Collums.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home.
