Margaret Orthodox submitted the following.
Civil War Union soldier. He enrolled for a 3-year term on August 15, 1862 at Philadelphia and mustered in on October 3 at Carlisle, Pa., as a Private in Company A of the 15th Cavalry Regiment, 160th Pennsylvania Volunteers. He mustered out with his company on June 21, 1865.

"FRANKLIN - Suddenly, on May 6, 1916, Dr. GEORGE P. FRANKLIN, aged 76 years. Relatives and friends, also Post No. 2, G. A. R., are invited to attend funeral services, Wednesday, at 2 P. M., at his late residence, 1819 Green st. Interment private."
