Services for S.N. Franklin were held in the Cache Creek School House. After the death of his wife, Mr. Franklin continued living on the farm but in 1930, he moved to Seymour and spent most of his time living in the home of a son. At the time of his death, he was at the O.H. Harrison home in Seymour. He came with his parents to Texas in 1873 and settled with them near Hico. On 16 May 1878, he married Miss Kitty Clem in Erath County, Texas. The couple moved to Baylor County in 1890 settling first on the Wichita river. In 1898, they settled in the Cache Creek community, and later, they bought a farm there. One son, Jim Franklin died several years ago. Surviving children are Henry Franklin, John Franklin, Pearl Shipley, B.L. Franklin, and Joe Franklin. Another daughter, Mrs. O.H. Harrison died Sunday afternoon. The only surviving member of Mr. Franklin's own family is a brother, J.H. Franklin. There are 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. For many years, Mr. Franklin had been a member of the Church of Christ and had been one of the most faithful members and one of the most faithful Christians. He was loved devotedly by the members of his family and by those who knew him.
